Memories of a 1963 Derwent Subscriber meeting
Derwent Information, now part of the Scientific business of Thomson Reuters, used to hold annual meetings of Subscribers. Can you spot anyone you know in this photograph showing an early (1963?) gathering of subscribers to Farmdoc, the pharmaceutical patents service?
With the launch of Farmdoc, and the addition of value-added services for agrochemical and polymer patents, Derwent made the transition from a publishing house into a full-fledged information company in the late 1960s.
Farmdoc customers, including those shown below, were instrumental in continuous innovation of patent, literature and conference databases at Derwent – a collaborative practice that continues today throughout Thomson Reuters.
