To 3501 Market Street from the Philadelphia International Airport

Estimated drive time of trip is 20 minutes.

These directions take you through the industrial part of Philadelphia. An alternate route - primarily on highways is noted immediately following.

  • Follow signs to the Airport Exit and follow to the PA-291 East ramp towards 1-76/1-95 North/Philadelphia/New Jersey/Return to terminal.
  • Keep to the right at the fork on the ramp, staying on PA-291. (Signs indicate that you are on Industrial Hwy.)
  • Stay on PA-291, even though it changes name to Penrose Ave and crosses the George C. Platt Memorial Bridge.
  • After crossing the bridge, watch for the signs that point TO I-76 West. Turn left on to S. 26th Street which will turn into I-76.
  • Move into the left lane and take the South Street exit (it is a left exit). Make a left.
  • Go past the stadium and take the first right (33rd Street).
  • Go three blocks to Market Street and make a left. Thomson Scientific is in the middle of the next block.

Alternative route:

  • Follow signs to the Airport Exit and follow to the PA-291 East ramp towards 1-76/1-95 North/Philadelphia/New Jersey/Return to terminal.
  • Follow the signs to I-95 North. Stay on I-95 North and watch for the I-676 exit. Take I-676 West.
  • Follow the signs for the Philadelphia Airport/I76 South and/or 30th Street Station (this exit is from the right and loops around heading South).
  • Do not get on to I-76. Stay to the right on the ramp and follow around (right and then left - going around the 30th Street Train Station) to the second traffic light (which is Market Street).
  • Make a right onto Market Street and follow to 3501 Market Street.

From 30th Street Amtrak Station to 3501 Market Street

ISI is a very short trip from the 30th Street Amtrak Station. 30th Street Station is located at 30th and Market and ISI is located between 34th and 36th Streets on Market. To reach ISI by Septa Train, exit the 30th Street Station and follow the signs to the 30th Street Septa Entrance. Go down the stairs. Wait for a Westbound train and exit at 34th Street Septa Stop. Thomson Scientific is in the middle of the block that is on the North-West corner of Market and 34th.

Cabs are also available from both the East and West Entrances to the station. The taxis line up and take the next passenger.

From the Pennsylvania Turnpike to ISI

Estimated drive time of trip is 25 minutes.

  • Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the Valley Forge Exit. Follow the signs for 1-76 East and merge onto it.
  • Look for the Spring Garden Exit ramp. Make a right onto Spring Garden.
  • Make a left onto 34th Street.
  • Take a right onto Market Street at the light and continue to 3501 Market St.

From Interstate 95 North (heading South toward Philadelphia)

  • Take I-95 South toward Center City Philadelphia.
  • Take the I-676 exit and head West.
  • Follow the signs for the Philadelphia Airport/I76 South and/or 30th Street Station (this exit is from the right and loops around heading South).
  • Do not get on to I-76. Stay to the right on the ramp and follow around (right and then left - going around the 30th Street Train Station) to the second traffic light (which is Market Street).
  • Make a right onto Market Street and follow to 3501 Market Street.

From Interstate 95 South (from Baltimore or Washington - use these instructions)

  • Take Interstate 95 North
  • Pass the Philadelphia International Airport.
  • Take the PA-291 exit (number 11 - towards I-76 West/Central Philadelphia).
  • Stay on PA-291, even though it changes name to Penrose Ave and crosses the George C. Platt Memorial Bridge.

Parking at 3501 Market Street

Limited on-street (metered) parking is available on Market Street in front of the Thomson Scientific building. Additional on-street parking is available directly behind the building on Filbert Street as well.

There are several parking lots within a two-block radius of Market Street. They are located at:

  • 36th and Market Street (faces Market Street)
  • 34th between Market and Chestnut (There is a covered lot on the left and an open lot on the right
